Olive Frost, born July 24, 1816, in Bethel, Maine, was the eighth child of Aaron Frost and Susannah Grey Frost. After her sister Mary Ann's conversion and marriage to Parley P. Pratt in Kirtland, Ohio, Olive herself joined the Church three years later, accompanying Parley on a mission to England; later, they arrived in Nauvoo in April 1843, and Olive was subsequently sealed to Joseph Smith.
